Ping'an Loufan: National Day Travel Safety Tips for Students 鈥?Parents and Students Should Learn Together

Deep News
Oct 04

During the National Day holiday, children's outdoor activities increase significantly. In residential communities, shopping districts, parks, and rural roads, children can be seen everywhere running and playing, or riding bikes in groups.

Children are naturally lively, but their safety awareness is weak. Once supervision is absent, road traffic accidents can easily occur. The following warning cases should serve as a cautionary lesson for all parents.

Case 1: Unlicensed Motorcycle Riding Hits a Pedestrian

Recently in Mianyang, Sichuan, a 12-year-old boy named Lele (pseudonym) was riding a motorcycle without a license when he collided with a pedestrian crossing the road. The pedestrian was knocked to the ground and injured, and Lele also fell off the motorcycle with the vehicle and was injured.

Traffic police determined that Lele bore primary responsibility for driving without a license and failing to yield to a pedestrian crossing the road. The pedestrian bore secondary responsibility for crossing the road without observing oncoming vehicles and suddenly accelerating across when vehicles were approaching.

Case 2: Running Across the Road and Being Hit

On the evening of August 26 in Shenmu, Yulin, a boy was running across the road when he was struck by a sedan driven by Zhang and knocked to the ground. The accident resulted in the boy being injured.

Case 3: Running a Red Light While Crossing the Road 鈥?Full Responsibility

On September 13 in Xuancheng, Anhui, a 16-year-old named Zhu was riding an electric bike along the intersection of Jiutong Road and Meiyuan Road in the city when he continued forward despite the signal being red. He scraped against an electric bike driven by Wang, causing two people to be injured and both vehicles damaged.

In this accident, Zhu caused the incident by running the red light while riding an electric bike in the motor vehicle lane, and he bore full responsibility.

Case 4: Crouching and Playing in a Parking Lot and Being Hit

On August 24, in a parking lot in Ulanqab, driver Zhang failed to carefully check the surrounding environment before driving and neglected to observe blind spots while driving. At the moment the vehicle moved, he directly knocked down a child named Li who was crouching on the ground playing with water and dragged the child under the wheels. Fortunately, the accident only caused minor skin injuries to Li.

The holiday period is a time of high incidence for child traffic accidents.

During the National Day holiday, parents are urged to fulfill their supervision responsibilities, pay close attention to their children's outdoor activities, focus on safety education for behaviors such as running and playing by the roadside and riding bikes in groups, and provide proper supervision during outings to strictly prevent traffic accidents.

The following traffic safety knowledge should be carefully studied by parents and children together.

Safety is the prerequisite for all happiness. It is hoped that every student can keep traffic safety firmly in mind, and that every parent can truly fulfill their guardianship duties to jointly protect children's safe holiday.
