Singapore stocks slid more than 1% on Wednesday, tracking regional losses as rising crude oil prices dampened investor sentiment.

The Straits Times Index (STI), a key benchmark for the Singapore Exchange, ranged between 5,603.70 and 5,679.15 throughout the day. It ended the session at 5,608.44, down 93.10 points or 1.6% compared to Tuesday's close.

In economic news, the Singapore government's total foreign reserves increased to SG$553.6 billion as of September-end from SG$550.7 billion as of the end of August, according to data published by the Monetary Authority of Singapore on Wednesday.

On the corporate front, shares of Mary Chia (SGX:5OX) surged nearly 108% at the close as it signed subscription agreements with four subscribers for 100 million shares at SG$0.01 per share.

Autagco (SGX:WNH) closed over 25% higher after signing a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Stanley Li and Karen Loh to acquire the entire share capital of Malaysia-based Yess Ventures Enterprise.
